British Taekwondo South was founded by Master Joe Brown (5th Dan WTF Registered) in 1981 and from then on the club has expanded to become one of the largest Taekwondo Club in the South of England.The club has produced many National and International champions which includes Master Brown's son Gareth ( many time GB National Champion). Joe was the BTF National Team Coach 1985-1994, BTCB Principal National Team Coach from 1994-2002,Regional National Team Coach 2002-2006 and the Great Britain Combined Armed Forces Taekwondo Coach 2005-2008 ( temporarily disbanded because of the overwhelming operational tempo) .
The club also offers special lessons either for group or individual training. This is adviseable for serious competitors who wants to develop their Taekwondo competition skills. All military personnel can train for free and university students can qualify for half price trainings and seminars.

BTS is now using the new Electronic scoring system (sponsored by Fascia Division ) . We have electronic body protectors for both kids and adults to be able to update our training regimen to the new international system of Taekwondo competition.

BTS team placed 3rd Best Team overall in the 2010 BTCB National Championships . The top Team trophy went to Ultimate Team and Gurumu got the 2nd best team award.
